Sport Unlimited
Sport Unlimited is part of the new 5 hour offer for young people in England. Nationally, £36m of new Government funding for young people's sport has been ring fenced for this programme by Sport England.
Sport Unlimited funding is targeted at "semi - sporty" children, young people and young adults living in Hampshire & IOW. It will engage them in an extra 1-2 hours a week (minimum 10 weeks) of high quality sport and physical activity.
In 2008/09 the Hampshire & IOW programme will be funding 38 activities in the autumn term and 27 activities in spring term. These activities are being coordinated by Local Authorities and School Sport Partnerships throughout Hampshire & IOW.
Hampshire & IOW has been allocated £246,750 to engage 6,480 semi sporty young people by March 2009. A further £730,000 will be available in Year 2 & 3 to support another 22,230 young people participate in more sport.
10 weeks sessions are being organised across Hampshire and Isle of Wight in a variety of activities from kiting to climbing and football to cheerleading. Some of these sessions can be found on this webpage others will be added as and when they are up and running.

Climbing Courses - East Hampshire
Two 10-week climbing courses will be run at Alton Leisure Centre for 11 -19 years.
